Je ne vois pas la femme cachée dans la forêt / I can't see the woman hidden in the woods
Behind the title of Perrine Valli's creation lies the composition by Magritte, which takes the form of a manifest inviting women to take their power back.
Lilith, a free woman born before submissive Eve, and long since relegated amongst the demons which haunt men's dreams, reappears today in the trio by Perrine Valli, who confronts two feminin figures and a masculin presence. Despite her morbid jealousy, Lilith reveals herself as sensitive, intelligent, and equal to the original man. Exploring themes that bring together a cultural view of the couple and sexuality as a power issue, ancient mythology and today's preoccupations, the French Swiss choreographer and dancer unleashes a universe of solitude and expectation close to Beckett. "From the love-fusion of Adam and Eve, we slide into a conflictual dimension which engenders infidelity and separation. Through this reflection on masculinity, there is a way to imagine femininity, which is possibly manipulated in the heart of the system, sometimes without trying to escape it." , says Perrine Valli.
