Rosa spent 834 days in prison. Days spent alone. Days with her books. Days remembering her books, her friends. Days listening to the sounds of the street through prison bars. Days waiting for visits from friends. Days looking forward to their arrival. Days suffering after they had left. Every day thinking. Of a new world.

Mathieu Bertholet places Rosa Luxembourg at the heart of a fable ; not only the life of a passionate, determined, courageous woman, but also the moment when Europe was in flames, in turmoil, in revolution, when an old world disappeared to make room for a new one, for ours. History, the adventure of Ideology, the political battles and the ideas that Rosa fought for, for which she was imprisoned, for which she gave her life.
Ideas, lapidated by one monument after another, which today seem to deserve our renewed attention, more than ever.
